About the Author
Robert J. Wicks is a Professor at Loyola College and has published several acclaimed books for professionals and the public. Dr. Wicks received his doctorate in psychology is from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. Prior to teaching in a CACREP-approved counseling program at Loyola College in Maryland, he taught at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.

Self-care for the clinician

So often we focus on our clients and not enough on ourselves. This book reminds me to be mindful of self-care. Dr. Wicks is as engaging as a writer as he is as a professor. He is also very caring, and that is revealed in his work. I enjoyed reading this book and applying its principles. Also, its size made it perfect to slip into my bag so I was able to take it with me, and enjoy it on the road. I believe it's a wonderful addition to a therapist's self-care regimen.

Must reading for all leaders

Should be read by leaders in all fields, particularly those in the social services. Our small schools principals group will be using this for discussion throughout the year this year. This book will give voice to your thoughts as well as ideas to practice... can't ask for much more than that!
